In Jakarta: Where Else?
Last week I attended Mining Indonesia 2026 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, on 9–12 September.
This article shares key takeaways from Southeast Asia’s largest international mining equipment exhibition (its 24th edition), held alongside Construction Indonesia, Concrete Show SEA, Oil & Gas Indonesia, Water Indonesia, GIFA & METEC Indonesia, and ADEXCO.
It brought together professionals to explore technologies, solutions, and connections across mining and related sectors.
Previous editions drew around 40,000+ trade attendees, 895+ exhibiting companies from 30+ countries, and over 21,000 m² of exhibition space, underscoring the event’s scale and importance for the industry.
Press coverage highlighted innovations in heavy equipment, smart mining solutions, remote control, AI integration, and greener, more efficient operations tailored to Indonesian conditions.
Indonesia remains a global mining powerhouse: the world’s top nickel producer (around 60%+ of global output), a leading thermal coal exporter, and a major tin producer.
In 2025, coal output reached about 817 million tonnes and nickel ore around 320 million tonnes, reinforcing its central role in the energy transition and critical minerals supply chains.
In this context of rising demands for efficiency, water recovery, and sustainable mineral processing, advanced filtration technologies attracted particular attention.
CHOQUENET is a French family-owned specialist with over 100 years of expertise in high-performance filtration and dewatering solutions, notably filter presses for mining and mineral processing.
With more than 5,000 units installed worldwide, they help operators improve water recovery, reduce tailings costs, and boost productivity. CINTASIA is their agent in Indonesia.
