Technology Learning Trip to China –
Yes, to China, not to the USA nor Europe –
Read why below –
We all know about the miracle of the Chinese economy in the last 30 years.
We also all know that it started with mastering the art of copycat.
One of the strategies consisted in sending people learn abroad, mostly to the West.
That was before.
Now, and over the past decade, China has developed equal or superior technologies in many sectors, especially in manufacturing.
Let’s look at the electric vehicles (EV) sector.
In 2024, Jacques Leger published a book called The Tsunami of Electric Cars.
This book is a brilliant analysis of the Chinese EV industry.
If you work in the automobile or EV sector, if you are interested in China, or both, then this book is a must-read.
To go beyond the diagnosis and to take action, Jacques is now preparing a learning trip to China next year, in April 2026.
This trip is reserved for 20 French-speaking individuals with each one having strong expertise in 20 key areas, from financing and batteries to AI, robotics, and European strategy.
The goals of this trip are :
➡️ To gain a thorough understanding of the various components that make the Chinese automobile sector model so strong.
➡️ to learn, repatriate, and disseminate the best practices that can be implemented to ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of the French and European automobile industries.
The Chinese companies/factories to be visited in China include: BYD, Huawei, CATL, Geely, Xiaomi, BAIC, and others.
The trip also includes a visit to the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.
China started by copying, then they improved fast.
Today, China is the teacher, at least in technology.
So yes, tech learning trips to China are the new normal.
Start learning Mandarin 😊.
